Wallets

After the payment is marked as settled the investor is asked to decide how they want to receive the purchased securities. There are different providers that offer wallets to hold and manage digital assets.

A wallet is comparable to a traditional depot and has a public address similar to an "IBAN". By entering the address, investors are credited with the digital securities during issuance. The address also allows investors to transfer securities among themselves. To do this, the sender enters the recipient's address.

Cashlink Signing supports the following types of wallets and wallet providers.

  • Integrated self-custody wallet

  • Tangany custodial wallet

  • External wallets

Integrated self-custody wallet

The private key that grants access to the purchased digital securities is stored on the mobile device of the investor. The mobile device must be used for transferring digital securities and set up before the issuer can credit the digital securities to the wallet. A transfer of digital securities can be initiated via the investor dashboard.

Wallet setup process

Investors are guided through the setup process of the wallet when they select the option at the end of the online investment process. The setup includes the following steps:

  1. During the online investment process, investors are instructed to download a custom mobile app deployed in the design of the platform.

  2. Investors download the app on their mobile device.

  3. An activation code is sent to the investor's email address that is used to start the app setup process.

  4. During the app setup process, the app generates a 12 word seed phrase that is used to instantiate the wallet. Investors are instructed to safely store this seed phrase, because it can be used to reset the app on a new device.

  5. The wallet address is used automatically to credit the digital securities during the online investment process.

Wallet reset as self-service

In case the device is lost the private key can be restored on another device by using the mnemonic phrase stored during the app setup.

The investor can simply follow the steps for resetting the old device and restoring the private key on the new device.

Tangany custodial wallet

Investors can select the Tangany wallet option within the online investment process for products deployed on the Ethereum or Polygon network.

The Tangany custody integration is not supported for the Stellar network.

In order to create a wallet with Tangany the investor needs to accept the terms and conditions of Tangany.

Personal data of investors is sent to Tangany when a wallet is created so that Tangany can perform a KYC check.

From the investor dashboard, investors can initiate transfers of digital securities and receive digital securities. Transfers need to be authorized by a custom mobile app deployed in the platform's design.
